2008 Zheda Alumni Potluck Party and Moon Festival/Guoqing Celebration on 9/28
Dear Alumni,
We will have a potluck party at 1:00pm on 9/28, Sunday, at Fremont Central Park, 40100 Paseo Padre Parkway, Fremont, CA 94538. Let's enjoy this probably last outdoor activity of this year. We will prepare some food from restaurant for people who do not have time to prepare food, however, a $10/adult and $20/family fee would be charged to cover the expense. Also, for headcount purpose to prepare foods, please signup at the end of this page indicating no food will be brought.
We also have invited the college application expert, Ms. Wanqiu Chen to join our potluck party on 9/28, Sunday. Ms. Chen has given us a well-received talk about "How admission decisions are made at most selective colleges" in past June. If you have high school kids at home, it would be a wonderful opportunity to talk to her in person about your kids' college application topics.
Starting around 3:00pm, there would be Moon Festival/Guoqing Celebration co-organized by many Chinese communities at the same park. Outdoor Children games will start around 3:00pm.
We also need Volleyball player to play at "Guoqing Cup" Volleyball games. If you like play volleyball games, please let us know by sending an email to zheda.alumni@gmail.com.
We also need volunteers to help setup Performance stage setup and outdoor decoration / flag / balloon & 帐篷更衣室 for Moon/Guoqing Festival Celebration program. Please let us know whether you could offer help when you sign up.
There is also a "Guoqing Cup" Volleyball Game among Chinese communities. It would be wonderful if someone could take a lead to organize a Zheda Volleyball team. Please send us an email (zheda.alumni@gmail.com) if you are interested in taking this initiative.

《北加州華人聯盟》歡慶中秋佳節及“十一”國慶聯歡活動
一年一度的歡慶中秋佳節及“十一”國慶聯歡活動,已經成為灣區慶祝活動的一個傳統項目。今年由多個硅谷華人團体參与的“北加州華人聯盟”將于九月二十八日星期天在Fremont Central Park 的 Performance Pavilion 隆重推出中秋國慶聯歡活動﹐希望灣區華僑同胞歡度中秋佳節，同時迎接中華人民共和國建國五十九周年。
上午十點半開始到下午四點半,精彩的“國慶杯排球大賽”非常值得觀看。多路英雄豪杰將捉隊廝殺，相信您一定不愿意錯過給自己的親朋好友助威加油的机會. 同時,各個本地的專業組織，聯誼團体以及校友會也將在現場搭台, 向廣大公眾介紹自己組織的情況。
下午3點就開始的少儿游藝活動, 節目內容丰富多彩，您將會看到我們不但有Jump house, Face painting,更為小朋友們准備了釣魚, 套圈, 呼啦圈比賽等等有獎活動。
今 年的文藝演出時間為下午四點半到七點。除了廣受歡迎的男、女聲獨唱、二重唱，還有和諧淳厚的男聲四重唱。京劇藝術家的表演，讓您体會到國粹的魅力。還有獨 特風情的民族舞蹈，別具一格的樂器演奏，新潮激情的流行歌曲，活潑可愛的少儿舞蹈，气勢磅礡的中華武術。更有著名雜技演員夏克敏先生表演笑聲不絕的“快樂 的炊事員”，台灣著名歌手溫梅桂女士深情獻上的別具一格的台灣土著民歌謠。相信這些精彩的節目將給您帶來歡樂。
歡慶中秋佳節及“十一”國慶聯歡會會場將設在Fremont Central Park 內，美麗的伊麗莎白湖畔的表演舞台(Performance Pavilion）, 藍天作背景，綠茵為坐席，讓您及家人朋友觀賞多姿多彩的節目同時，舒适地享受戶外美景。請帶上家人及聯絡您週圍的朋友﹐共度一個歡樂的週末。

Semi-final and Final games: 4 first place teams of second round games will play semi-final and final games. 4 second place teams of second round games will play for 5th and 6th place trophy. 2 games/match, 25 points, 27 cap/game, if 1:1, more points team wins

Dear Alumni,
1. Thanks for participated alumni, we had a great potluck outing and volleyball games on Sunday. We had a great showing in the volleyball games, even though we made up the whole team at the last minute.. We achieved first place in group after two morning games. In the afternoon, the results were really affected by physical tiredness. Of course, our opponents in the afternoon games were also very strong and play all the time at the Fremont central park. We would be much better next time, since now we have a team! On the other hand, our delicious potluck dishes made other alumni volleyball player very very jealous...
2. We would like to thank many volunteers who helped a lot in this Sunday's activities. Special thanks to Kevin Ye's family, Huijuan Li & Hao Feng, Feng Zhou & Hong Li, Feng Li, Harry Wang, Jiqing Tang, Lihan Sun, Bruce Lao, and many other alumni (Sorry if I miss your name here). Special thanks also go to our volleyball team members for these exciting volley games: Qing Li (Captain), Shuo Zhang, Tiffany Pan, Hong Liu, Jason Sun , Kai Xu, Qing Shao, James Zhuge, Zhi Cheng.
3. Special thanks go to our associated college application consultant Ms. Wanqiu Chen. She joined the potluck party and had a nice chat with several parents. More importantly, she gave us a second donation check of $500. We appreicate her generous financial support to Zheda Alumni Network.
4. Moon festival/Guoqing celebration activities were also very entertaining.
