Job Description
system modelling engineer - 700057
Description
The System Modeling Engineer will develop a system performance model for emulation of a DSP based Image signal processor embedded in a SoC with primary CPUs for mobile platforms like smart phones and tablets. The modeler will abstract hardware data path connectivity and constraints around the ISP. The engineer will also model discrete processors inside the ISP subsystem and the cache and program memory usage.

The system modeler will work in collaboration with other teams involved in modeling, tools and ASIC design to draw from existing designs. He / she needs to calibrate and improve on the accuracy of the high level system model for the imaging and video use cases. This model will be critical in estimating the scope of the use cases that the ISP can handle.

This position is for the Video Imaging and Engineering Design group in Intel that develops camera and image processing components for smart phones, tablets and other mobile platforms with multi-core SoCs. As a member of the VIED, the engineer will be working in a cross functional team, interacting with architects, system engineers, SW/FW developers, HW engineers, platform and validation teams to develop the system model.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Develop performance model for a SIMD based Image signal processor embedded in a SoC
- Model the data connectivity around the ISP
- Model the discrete processors in the ISP and the cache and program memory usage
- Collaborate with modeling, tools, ASIC, systems engineering, software and firmware teams
- Develop accurate performance emulation model of the use cases for imaging and video

Qualifications
 - BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent. MS is strongly preferred
- 5 years of relevant industry experience
- 3+ years of relevant experience with performance models and emulation platforms
- 2+ years of relevant experience in developing performance models
- Excellent collaboration skills coupled with strong written and verbal communication skills
