Course Description: How to Say It with Tact and Diplomacy

  • Have you ever wanted to ask a friend to the prom, but did not know how to say it?
  • Have you ever gotten into an argument with your teacher, because you had a disagreement?
  • How should you ask for a donation, when you are not sure how to say it to promote your cause?
  • How should you respond if you have a conflict on the day of your summer job interview?

At some point, we have all found ourselves in situations that are a little awkward -- it's not always easy to know how to handle communication with others appropriately. In this treasure of a class, you will uncover a series of techniques for handling face-to-face and written communication effectively.

Specifically, you will learn to:

  • Say the things you want but cannot put into words
  • Make people love the way you say it, even when they disagree with what you say
  • Use techniques to make yourself more comfortable in communication
  • Learn What to Say and How to Say It with tact and diplomacy

This is a class for all of us. The skills explored can be utilized immediately, and will also be of use in college, in your work setting, in interpersonal relationships and beyond.
